In 2023, the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation made new investments in a new country in Sub-Saharan Africa: Tanzania.
It thus financed the microfinance institution VisionFund Tanzania, for an equivalent amount of 2M euros. VisionFund Tanzania’s mission is to provide a better future for children, empowering families to create income and jobs and unlocking the economic potential of communities.
This MFI is committed to developing the microfinance sector in Tanzania based on best practices in microfinance and strengthening the sector to develop a credit culture.
To date, the institution has nearly 40,440 clients, 59% of whom are women. This clientele is 60% in rural areas
