Context:
In 2023, Uzbekistan finds itself in a dynamic economic context, with ambitious market-oriented reforms. Agriculture plays a major role in the Uzbek economy, accounting for 25% of GDP and employing 26% of the total workforce. Uzbekistan benefits from abundant natural resources, low public debt and a strategic geographical position between China and Europe.
THE INSTITUTION :
Renesans in Uzbekistan is a Tier 3 microfinance institution established in 2007. The institute provides micro-loans based on group and individual methodology. Renesans is committed to being a leader in financial services for women entrepreneurs, sole proprietors and self-employed people in rural areas.
Impact:
Renesans targets rural customers and mainly finances income-generating activities in business/commerce and agriculture/livestock. Its mission is clear: to provide quick and easy access to quality microfinance services, thereby promoting sustainable economic development in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
