Context:
In 2015, agriculture accounted for 20.6% of GDP and employed a large percentage of the workforce. Despite a subsoil rich in mineral and natural resources, the DRC is marked by weak economic development and persistent poverty.
The Institution:
HEKIMA is a microfinance institution that provides loans in small groups mainly to women engaged in small-scale trade in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 2003.
Impact:
HEKIMA contributes to the social economic transformation of the working populations and particularly the women of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
