Organisations supported

The Foundation operates in emerging countries according to objective criteria, presented and ratified by its Board of Directors : countries with low Human Development Index (HDI); countries with low financial inclusion rates; countries with little international microfinance funds. These countries are mainly located in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and South and Southeast Asia.

The Foundation provides financing tailored to local MFIs that demonstrate their rigorous management and social commitment to inclusive and responsible finance. It is aimed at all MFIs, seeking a balance between small, medium and large institutions. It also offers a support and technical assistance programme for small and medium-sized MFIs that have achieved or are on the verge of achieving a level of financial self-sufficiency and operational equilibrium, but do not have easy access to domestic or international sources of financing.

In addition, the Foundation takes minority stakes in the capital of social companies whose main mission is either to give the poorest access to essential goods and services, such as nutrition, drinking water, energy or financial services, or set up inclusive value chains for the benefit of local producers, while following a business model.
