KOSAM Project (Laiterie du Berger) - Mini pilot farms for breeders

KOSAM - which means "milk" in Pulaar - is a project to develop the collection of milk and dairy farming in the North of the country. KOSAM is led by Laiterie du Berger and SOS SAHEL and was launched in 2016 for a three-year period (2016-2018). Today, Laiterie du Berger is the only Senegalese dairy industry to produce and distribute milk products made from fresh milk collected from 800 farmers.

To improve milk production models for farmers, the KOSAM project has implemented two pilot mini farms.

It is a barn with a capacity of 10 liters per day, for six dairy cows, two of which are crossbred cows. In addition, the beneficiary will be trained at Ferme Pilote B & G and at home to become a milk producer.
