Four years after its creation PPSE pays its first dividends
Phare Performing Social Enterprise (PPSE) is a social company whose activity is the creation, production and presentation of live performances by young professionals from its training school. Its two main shareholders are the Phare Ponleu Selpak Association, which runs the training school and holds 71% of the shares and the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, which holds 17% of its capital. For the first time, after achieving a significant net profit, the Board of Directors of PPSE decided unanimously to pay dividends for a total amount of $ 130,000 after allowing for a nearly $ 170,000 reserve.
The dividends paid to the PPS Association will be used in full to finance school programmes whereas the dividends paid to the Foundation will enable us to pursue our Social Business investment programme.
Established in 2013 at the initiative of the Phare Ponleu Selpak Association, which has been working for over 20 years to give a quality and artistic education to highly vulnerable children, and the Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation, PPSE employs young artists from disadvantaged backgrounds, trained by the NGO. PPSE offers career opportunities in the circus professions and combines the best of Cambodian cultural traditions and contemporary circus arts.
