Au bout de soie! 2 students, 8 months to promote solidarity-based microfinance
14/01/2017 -> 06/08/2017 | Asia
Benjamin and Guilhem are two 22 year-old young people whose project is to cycle 10,000 km on the Silk Road to support microentrepreneur projects they wish to partially help finance, in partnership with local MFIs.
Their action is in line with MCMA (Microcredit-Macroaction), a student association under the law of 1901 that supports microfinance (€ 100,000 in donations since 2013).
The two objectives of these two students journey?
- Help to permanently lift 1,000 people out of poverty, alongside four microfinance organisations (Entrepreneurs du Monde, Positive Planet, Oxus and the GCA Foundation)
- Draw on the experience of these entrepreneurs and share their success stories with the widest possible public thanks to a web-series based on their encounters and adventures
From January to August, from Burma to Georgia, they will visit seven solidarity-based projects focusing on access to entrepreneurship for the most deprived. They will finance some and, for others, they will conduct social impact analyses and communication missions.
